Biarritz to Barcelona

A Charity Bike Ride for The Children's Trust

Nick Bicknell

Age:
38 (39 on the 1st May, don't spoil me with presents)
D.O.B:
1st May 1969
Occupation:
Business Development Manager
Extra Skills:
Apart from Sarcasm and the ability to put an outfit together, very little I'm afraid.
About Me:
I am a keen sports fan who enjoys the finer things in life, I run a football team in my adopted home of Milton Keynes although I am originally from Wolverhampton (20 miles North of Birmingham for you Southerners). I have been watching the Tour de France for many years from the days of Big Miguel Indurain through to Lance Armstrongs 6 victories. I think this opportunity to raised money for a great cause will be a fantastic physical and mental challenge and take me completely out of my comfort zone, can't wait...
Cycling History:
Fell off a trike aged 4 and broke my elbow so off to a bad start but I look back at my years with my Grifter (the thinking mans chopper!) with great fondness, not cycled much since teens but have climbed the great peaks in the Tour de France from my sofa with Eurosport which I think partly qualifies me for this ride and being a Wolves fan since birth pain is second nature.
Current Fleet:
12 year old Mountain bike bought from an old lady who won it in a competition (it is a mans bike, I think) and a brand new Alpha Black, Trek 1.9 Triple mean machine that will either be my greatest friend or enemy
Dislikes:
Racism, Sexism, Poverty, Rudeness, Stew, Slippers and Ironing Boards
Hero:
Lance Armstrong
Jersey Size:
I am a large but hope to be a medium by kick off
