The Challenge
Over 450 miles in seven days does not tell the whole story of the Biarritz to Barcelona Challenge; 23 riders will be climbing some of the toughest peaks in Europe in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the Children’s Trust in Tadworth, Surrey
The mountains of the Pyrenees, made famous by generations of riders in the Tour de France, stand between the Atlantic town of Biarritz in France and the Mediterranean. Our challenge is to get a group of riders, some in their 20s, some in their 50s (and quite a few in between), over the Col du Tourmalet, the Col de Peyresourde, the Col d’Aspin and the Col d’Aubisque, and down through Spain to Barcelona.
Months of training have preceded the trip in order that we succeed in conquering the mountains and in doing so raise at least £50,000 to help build a national rehabilitation centre for a charity that does so much good work for children with severe brain trauma and their families.
